No CommentsAssoc. Prof. Dr. Halil Hüseyin Çağatay was born in 1981 in the Tarsus district of Mersin. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Mersin. He pursued his medical education at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine between 1999 and 2005 and completed his residency training at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital between 2005 and 2009.
Associate Professor Dr. Halil Hüseyin Çağatay continues his active professional life by closely following current scientific developments. He particularly focuses on eye health in infants and children, childhood and adult strabismus, eye aesthetics, and eyelid diseases. In addition, he routinely performs cataract and laser treatments. Married with two children, Dr. Çağatay continues his professional life in Izmir. With the motto “Health and people first,” he serves patients from different parts of Türkiye and the world.
Dr. Cagatay has worked in the fields of eye diseases, especially Cataract, Retina, and Oculoplastic Surgery. His specialization dissertation topic focused on “Frontalis suspension surgery in ptosis cases”.
He/She continues his/her work in areas such as infant eye examinations, pediatric eye health, strabismus surgery in adults, and strabismus surgery for amblyopia.
In recent years, some of the work has entered the medical literature in the form of published articles, as well as oral, video, and poster presentations at congresses.
He/She worked at Mersin Mut State Hospital between 2010 and 2012, and at Kafkas University from 2012 to 2016. In 2015, he/she served as an observer in the Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Dokuz Eylül University. During this period, he/she conducted studies on congenital strabismus and pediatric fundus imaging. Between 2016 and 2018, he/she worked at İzmir Alfa Eye Center and Karşıyaka Eye Hospital.
He/She has performed cross-linking and hybrid contact lens procedures for keratoconus cases. Furthermore, during this period, he/she enhanced his/her knowledge and skills by managing complex cases across various medical areas, with the aim of advancing tertiary healthcare services and medical education in the Northeastern Anatolia region.
Dr. Cagatay has passed the European Board of Ophthalmology Diploma Examination. In 2016, he received the title “Fellowship European Board Ophthalmologist” in Paris, in the exam attended by ophthalmologists trained in Europe.
